Some Things Must Pass- This album will transcend
1 of 1 found this helpful This purchase served to replace the loss of this amazing collection of music that occurred when I discarded my LP turntable. George Harrison was every bit the genius of any Beatle. Originally a three record set, this two CD edition actually has bonus tracks that only serve to enhance the original. After a quarter century, I am enjoying rediscovering these gem-quality songs that inspire, comfort, challenge and entertain. Thanks George.
Wicked Edisto:: The Dark Side of Eden by Helsley, Alexia

I Liked It
Having vacationed on Edisto for the past few decades, I found many names and locations familiar. Some of the names still adorn street signs, business establishments and parks.
The book appeared to be collection of essays. The historical record of Edisto’s connections to Native Americans, Revolutionary, War of 1812 and Civil War warriors, slavery and smuggling, civil rights and political corruption, is sourced through the official national and state archives. In addition, other books and local court documents are references.
I didn’t see stories I’d heard on the island. The Ghost of Brick House Mansion, and the role played by the Murdaugh family.
I liked the book.

Masterwork from a Master Band
1 of 1 found this helpful At around 38 minutes with only seven songs (none over eight minutes), Brothers and Sisters is a departure from the LP-side length jam marathons on early Allman Brothers Band albums, however, the musical quality remains consistent. Ramblin' Man is the hit, but true fans of bottle-neck slide guitar will appreciate Southbound, Jessica and Wasted Words just as much. Recorded at the height of the band's commune experience, this album is the signature effort of the post-Duane era. In their prime, the Allman Brothers Band's following was second only to the Grateful Dead and included a concert in front of 600K at Watkins-Glen Speedway, coincidently sharing billing with the Dead.
