Verfy bad design, no support to stay stright

I am happy that I spend few extra $$$ but got a good item.
1 of 1 found this helpful Got this device few days ago and I am surprised to see the how fast is the GPS fix; I hooked it up with external antenna and with cold start it took like few seconds to get a lock, never had a GPS that fast before.
It is huge; or may I say bigger then I thought it would be!!!!, it is the size of a laptop; no kidding; I have to spend some time deciding where to install on my boat, don't want to block the front view.
Programmable keys are very nice,even nicer then some of Garmin's new models where you have to push like 6 keys to get to the desired screen.
the only thing that I was not aware of that you need an external fish finder control box (FF525) and a transducer (both) you can't just hook a transducer to it like many other models therefore you need to spend another $300 (or so) to get it working; (hence the 4 stars) but once it is bundle with this 10" screen device; your life is easy, you can split the screen in 2,3 or even in 4 sections, you can add radar and live weather.
in my humble opinion it is one big information center for your boat.

6 of 7 found this helpful Worked as it supposed to, installation is not bad but I am a tech person, I would rate installation from 1 to 10 scale where 1 being plug in vs 10 is hard wiring car computer, I would say 6, you need to find correct fuse, one with ignition on (yellow wire); one with engine start (red wire), correct place for ground (black wire), you need to run the wires behind the driver side window pillar etc. but once installed, is is working per specification without any issues.
only if Wifi module is faster for downloads, I think it is 802.11B, on my Iphone 6s it is downloading videos about 1 MB a sec, so for a 120MB video I have to sit in the start car for about 2 min, other option is to take out the SD card and download all using PC.
BUT I am happy with the price I paid, it is almost invisible and recoding is as clear as its promise, night time is also very acceptable for a camera with this price range. Also you have the option to record sound inside the car or put it on mute.
I would recommend this for a budget buyer.
