The Seasons of Madeline Island: A Camera's Eye View: The Photography of Sheelagh
Dec 30, 2016
Great content and quite appropriate for current photography techniques
Great book with images from my past. Grew up in the area and always loved Bayfield and the Apostle Islands, especially Madeline Island. The only island accessible from Bayfield by commercial ferry, we used to walk many of the trails and beaches. Seeing the island as it is today brings back fond memories of picnics. We almost always ended up with sand in our shoes and wet feet from wading in the water which is too cold to swim, most of the time. The book was a gift to my sister who was too young to appreciate Madeline Island when we lived there. She did go for visits later in life, coming to appreciate the wilderness and beauty of Madeline Island. Sheelagh Dalziel really captured the essence of the island in her images. Most people never get to see the year round splendor of that part of the world, and they should, and they can.
