The blue color comes out close to the exhaust port and it turns white. Not sure what dye is used but it cools and washes out easily. It is made out of good thick fiberglass material so heat resistance should be great. That does make it a little itchy on the install. I personally think it looks good so far with the wash out. Gives it a bit of character. I would buy again but I might add some color my self some how next time so the wash out isn't so bad. That is from one start up and install soak.
