It was 1978 and I was twelve. Flipping channels, I landed on something weird and wonderful and was instantly hooked. TV Ontario was airing Jon Pertwee episodes of Doctor Who. A few days later I found Tom Baker episodes on PBS. I quickly discovered that the show had a long history - it had been running for 15 seasons! In order to encourage me to read, my parents bought me a Target Doctor Who book (Tomb of the Cybermen) I read it, loved it and began the search for more Doctor Who books. Not long after, I discovered annuals, the weekly mag, conventions, fan clubs and my collection started growing. As an adult, I indulged (tee hee) but after 50 years of collecting, I'm ready to get these wonderful items into the hands of the next generation of collectors.
