At the Art of Server, we are custom computer server builders and enthusiasts, here to serve other server builders and enthusiasts with their server needs. When you buy your server components from us, know that we treat our server parts with care and proper handling of sensitive electronics. We are not a high-volume computer recycler parting out systems with little regard. We actually spend the time to fully clean components, update firmwares, and fully test our components. Many of the components we sell are exactly what we use to build our own servers. So, whether you’re building a home media server, a ZFS file server, a TrueNAS server, an unraid server, or running your own virtualization host with Proxmox or just plain ol’ kvm, reach out to us and tell us about your project! As server builders, we always want to learn what other builders are building!

To anyone who ends up here for the same reason I did:
Yes, this card is fully compatible with any PCIe 3.0 x4 slot, as long as the card physically fits in your motherboard.
It will have a lower speed cap than it would at x8 speeds, but if you’re planing to use it with HDD NAS drives, this does not matter at all. The max read speeds that 8 HDDs could give you would be around 2 GB/s, and PCIe 3.0 x4 is capable of 8 GB/s.
I’ve had 0 problems with this card. It “just works.”
Art of Server rocks!

I purchased LSI SAS2 card and it arrived in perfect condition. Arrived in a anti-static bag, inside of bubble wrapp, and in a box - USPS-proof. Card is original LSI and system booted perfectly with it. Price is a bit higher than other cards you might find but it is worth it considering you are getting a tested original alongside plenty of advice if you contact the seller.
