About us

I’ve made things my whole life. When I lost some people really close to me, I knew I had to go and try something different. So I left my job and decided to strike out on a mission to the mountains. Ended up in Potter County Pennsylvania. God’s Country they call it. A journey of inspiration and enthusiasm plus a little luck and a lot of hard work. I knew I couldn’t find a happy life but I could make one here.

STUMP/WERKZ STUDIO was created on a love of mountains, hunting, fishing, art, travel, and music. Everything about us is allergic to soulless mass production. We offer unique, inspired, eco-minded engraved stone, engraved/cut leather, and wood crafts plus other handcrafted wares made with materials and designs that embody the beauty and rigorous conditions of the local forestland and mountains. Our goal is to make creative goods that lift the spirit and stimulate outdoor adventure while prioritizing creating a premium product and supporting mountain communities. - - John Stump
