    Years ago, I replaced the Tecumseh vertical shaft 5.5 horsepower engine on an older Ariens push mower with a Harbor Freight 173 cc Predator engine. I've always wished the Predator shaft was longer because I've had to drag the deck across the lawn to get a close mow. I installed this adapter today and now i have the shaft length I need. I wish I had bought this long ago. This is sometimes described as a "long shaft blade adapter." That's a bit wrong. It extends a short shaft by maybe 2".
