    The lens arrived in the original box and seemed brand-new. Plugging the lens into the Samyang/Rokinon Lens Station, I noticed that the firmware was already updated the latest available version (v.8 at the time of this comment). Everything about it works great so far (I've only used the lens for a few hours), and the optical quality and functionality of the lens are exactly what I expected from the Rokinon 18mm f/2.8. No complaints, and I'm happy to have such a nice, lightweight, wide-angle lens!

    Good quality budget 1.8 35mm. Will have chromatic aberration at 1.8, but lightroom is very very good at removing it from this lens.

    When I got the lens, viewing it in sunlight, I thought the front element had a "small but conspicuous scratch"—how I initially reported it—whereupon the seller played dumb by asking "does the scratch affect your shots?" On closer inspection, I found it's apparently, instead, a big white speck of debris behind the front element. Perhaps during shipment, the debris dislodged from elsewhere and stuck to the glass. Now the return process has proved ridiculously complicated and seemingly impossible.
