About us

Our store was created shortly after the Covid pandemic began, to help me ensure Derek would receive the consistent, full-time care that he requires. Derek is my adventurous, passionate, nonspeaking, and hard working 21-year-old son. In 2015, I started writing a blog, sharing the celebrations and struggles that Derek experiences as an individual diagnosed with autism. I titled the Facebook page "Discovering Derek- Love, Autism and Potatoes", as I hope to advocate for social awareness, community inclusion, and attention to the needs of many families, and that the extent of daily support and direct needs that each individual diagnosed with ASD varies greatly with each individual. In the years since I started the FB page, many other social platforms have emerged, and I have consistently used the same handle/ username with each online platform, including Ebay.
