About us
I started my own business away back in 1976 after 3 years working for the John Lewis Partnership. I opened a small shop in North Berwick, East Lothian, Scotland and traded as 'Jim and Jenny' making and fitting made to measure curtains and blinds.
After 4 years I bought a shop in nearby Gullane and traded from there until 2002.
In 1999 the internet was beginning to blossom and I made contact with embroidery manufacturers in China and began a wholesale operation of tablecloths, runners and doilies supplying shops throughout the UK.
In 2002 the curtain making business was sold to Hazel Melville who continues to trade there today as 'Hazel Rebecca'.
I moved back to my home town of Hawick in the Scottish Borders where the wholesale business continued to expand. After the financial crisis of 2008 there were fewer specialist linen shops to sell to and online selling seemed the obvious path forward.
Today I sell almost entirely online on Amazon, Etsy and Ebay with few wholesale customers left.
