Notified seller who then requested videos of it's operation three times after providing clear videos of the fault in the first two videos. After the third request, I got fed up and inspected the pump internals myself and found the issue with a bypass valve. It now has suction and works as expected. Seller provided a $10 refund for the inconvenience.
