About us

Crimson Guitars is a guitar manufacturer based in Dorset, in the south of England. We have been designing, innovating and hand-building guitars for over fifteen years. We also hand wind our own specially designed pickups, manufacture luthiers tools and provide training.

A dedicated team of tool-makers and apprentices form the backbone of this part of the company and between them, they produce, almost entirely by hand, everything from levelling and crowning files to nut slotting saws and notched straight edges. The same care and attention that goes into a £3000 boutique guitar comes to bear on our tools and they are designed from the ground up with the luthier in mind. Our toolmakers utilise everything from CNC and milling machines, engineers lathes to good old brute strength and the end results are small, perfectly formed works of functional art.
