  carb works fine now that i modified both the choke linkage and plate and the governor linkage and plate. NOT a direct replacement for a john deere 212, or i suspect any other john deere. Had to pull the choke lever and plate, replace it with the old choke lever and plate from the old carb, find a linkage ball for the governor arm, drill out a position on the throttle arm to mount it, pull the ball receiver fitting from the governor arm and ream it out then shorten throttle arm to clear breather.
