About this product

Product Information

The man who gave us Manhattan, Annie Hall and Crimes and Misdemeanours. One of modern cinema's great artists and the world's funniest New Yorker. In 1966 Woody - then known as Allen Konigsberg; stole a movie and made it his own, knocking out all the voices to create a comedy. In doing so, he created a minor classic. Set in Japan in the mid 60's, the original is a long lost curio of the ilk later satirised by Mike Myers, in Austin Powers. The resulting film sees the cast desperate to discover the recipe for a particular egg salad, replete with sub 007 stylings. However, the new dialogue comes courtesy of Woody and friends. We leave the last word to the maestro himself. It was done before actually, in Gone With The Wind. But not many people know that. Those were Japanese people actually, and we dubbed in American voices, southern voices. But that was years ago.
