Product Information
Vid Grid is one of the pack-in games for Atari's Jaguar CD system. It's a puzzle game based on music videos. Players can initially choose from one of nine popular (but not necessarily contemporary) music videos, all from different singers or bands. Players must then solve a puzzle that uses the chosen music video.

Vid Grid's basic idea is like a jigsaw puzzle with square pieces that fit together. But these scrambled pieces are composed of parts of music videos as they're playing, and users must pick up and rearrange the pieces to make a complete video screen before the video itself ends. Starting from simple divisions like the 3 x 3 with nine separate pieces, the game works up to a 6 x 6 division with 36 pieces on screen at once. To complicate matters more, players will also have to contend with a variety of extra rules. Slider puzzles have one puzzle piece missing, and players must solve the video by sliding pieces around using the empty slot. Perfection puzzles require players to drop puzzle pieces only in their correct spots. If a piece is placed incorrectly, the entire puzzle reshuffles. Other puzzle variants have players trying to solve videos with every piece being played upside down, or with some pieces flipped over sideways.

Completing certain puzzles unlocks more challenging puzzles and levels in the game. Players can also access a practice mode where they can tweak various settings to work on specific puzzle skills.

The nine music videos players start with are as follows: Aerosmith's "Cryin'," Peter Gabriel's "Sledgehammer," Guns N Roses' "November Rain," Jimi Hendrix's "Are You Experienced?," Metallica's "Enter Sandman," Ozzy Osbourne's "No More Tears," Red Hot Chili Peppers' "Give it Away," Soundgarden's "Spoonman," and Van Halen's "Right Now"."Product Identifiers
