Jim kitted himself out in chic suits, his whole image was that of a sophisticated and stylish cabaret artist. Also, you were far more likely to find Reeves backed on his recordings by a full orchestra than by pedal steel guitars or fiddles. All of this made Jim Reeves possibly the first country star to ever cross over and gain a mainstream pop audience. This LP contains a goodly number of Gentleman Jim's finest moments among it's tracks, and apart from the hits, there are lesser-known gems that are well worth checking out.
