THE SEVEN-PER-CENT SOLUTION is an engrossing, fast-paced thriller loosely based on the novel by Nicholas Meyer. In 1890 London, Sherlock Holmes (Nicol Williamson) is a paranoid mess, living in a cocaine-addled stupor. In an attempt to rid Holmes of his cocaine habit, the trusty Dr. Watson (Robert Duvall) leads the famous detective on a fabricated chase that culminates in the office of Dr. Sigmund Freud (Alan Arkin). While the much-maligned Dr. Feud attempts to cure Holmes's addiction, the men are drawn into a corrupt criminal web as they attempt to rescue a beautiful and desperate patient of Freud's (Vanessa Redgrave) from a fate worse than death.
