Tecmo's first foray into the 16-bit baseball market brings together 700 MLBPA players with statistics and ratings based on the 1993 season, complete manager options such as the hit-and-run and double steal, multiple defensive formations, as well as two different hitting views. The Super Nintendo version of the game uses a Mode 7 fielder's perspective in an attempt to make it seem like you're really on the diamond.<br><br>The game also features battery backup to save individual batting and pitching statistics, league leaders and team standings. Three game modes include: Season (choose between regular, reduced or short), Preseason (Exhibition) or Super Stars (All-Star game). While the game does not include a Major League Baseball license for authentic team names and logos, teams are listed by city and based on real-life counterparts from 1993. As in previous Tecmo sports titles, you can choose to have the computer simulate games or manage them yourself.
