The Tascam DP-03 8-track Digital Portastudio Recorder is a flexible, high-quality tool that allows you to make pro audio music recordings at home or anywhere you travel. The labeled pushbutton controls and dials and graphic display with backlighting make it easy to adjust tracks and see what you are doing. The Tascam DP-03 8-track Digital Portastudio has four recorder modes: Multitrack, Bounce, Mixdown, and Mastering. The Tascam DP-03 manages all your song data in individual files that are easy to organize The Tascam DP-03 unit uses SD cards for multi-track recording. Record two tracks simultaneously, and play back up to eight tracks. Balance eight tracks simultaneously with separate controls for each track. Each Tascam DP-03 Digital Portastudio track has independent REVERB and PAN adjustments, track selection buttons, volume faders, and track select (record) buttons. Easy pushbutton settings allow you to repeat, auto punch, and undo/redo sections of your recording. The Tascam DP-03 Digital Portastudio editing tools are simple to use. The editing tools are nondestructive, which means you can undo edits you do not like and revert back to your original track. Editing functions are similar to word processing functions: copy, paste, insert, move, open (insert silent break), cut, silence, clone, or erase. Use the Mixdown/Master controls for mastering stereo tracks. Mastering is the process of adjusting a stereo master track to improve the final sound. Simple controls displayed in the Mastering screen give you equalization, compression, and normalization adjustments for your stereo master track. Use the built-in mixer to blend all of your tracks into a stereo master track. The recorded stereo master track is easy to download to a computer using a USB cord. The file is easy to share, burn to an audio CD, or mix back into another recording project. Input sound for your recording to the Tascam DP-03 Digital Portastudio with a variety of options, including standard 1/4-inch jack inputs, XLR connectors, or built-in microphones. The recorder provides XLR connectors phantom power for condenser microphones. The Tascam DP-03 Digital Portastudio standard jack or INPUT A delivers high-impedance guitar or bass input. This allows guitar or bass input to be amplified at the source rather than at the mixer or amplifier, giving you a clearer and less distorted guitar or bass sound. Give your recording lead-ins a professional feel with nine 45-mm faders, including eight track-faders and one master level fader. Auto punch in/out buttons on the console face make it easy to bring tracks in and out with precision. If your hands are busy playing instruments, you can use RC-3F foot switches to punch in and out. You can also program foot switches to perform other functions as needed in your recording. The Tascam DP-03 Digital Portastudio comes with a built-in demo song to help you learn the unit controls. The Tascam DP-03 Digital Portastudio manual, available in full online, walks you through each of the recorder features. Each section provides mini-tutorials to familiarize you with the controls.
