NotesThis four-LP vinyl box set contains Johannes Brahms complete set of four symphonies, conducted by Vladimir Jurowski, Principal Conductor and Artistic Advisor of and for the London Philharmonic. These live LPO concerts, recorded at Londons Southbank Centres Royal Festival Hall, 2008-11, saw previous release as two separate LPO Label CDs, but are brought together in one package for the first time in this exclusive box set. The CD release of Symphonies Nos. 1 & 2 (February 2010), received great critical acclaim including BBC Music Magazines Disc of the Month. The CD release of Symphonies Nos. 3 & 4 was also praised in the press, with Gramophone describing the LPO as Londons finest Brahms orchestra and The Financial Times writing that Jurowski marries the best of tradition with the best of modern practice.
