Neelix must confront a painful chapter from his past when a Haakonian named Ma'Bor Jetrel beams aboard the Voyager. Many years earlier, Jetrel worked as a scientist developing weapons of mass destruction employed by the Haakonians in their war against the Talaxians. His Metreon Cascade decimated the Talaxans, killing hundreds of thousands of civilians, including Neelix's family, and poisoning many of the survivors with metreon isotopes. Jetrel has come forward to redeem his past by finding a cure for metreon poisoning, but needs the Voyager's help. But can Neelix reconcile with his past to save his future?
