Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron -- Forever Free features characters from the 2002 Disney animated film. Although the game doesn't follow the movie script in detail, gameplay features elements of action from the film including the capture of Spirit by rustlers, his subsequent escape, and rescue of the filly Rain and other horses. In his attempt to round up and save his companions, Spirit will explore five areas and encounter a dozen characters, from Carrie Nation and "Snakefinger" Riely to Little Brook, Little Creek, and the Kickapoo Trader Eagle Eye.<br><br>During the adventure, Spirit nurses Rain back to health by providing food (apples) and water, collects arrowheads as currency for buying quest items, and picks up feathers as an indication of his kindness. Spirit runs faster as he finds carrots throughout the game, gets more carrots by catching a rabbit, races an eagle for a feather, kicks backward to knock down fences and free his imprisoned friends, jumps over rivers and other obstacles, and interacts with several characters, both animal and human. Up to a dozen different sign-in names can be entered so multiple players may be tracked separately by automatic saves throughout the game.
