Somewhat similar to Asteroids but nowhere near as exciting, Space Hawk has players adrift in space, equipped with a laser gun and backpack thruster instead of the more standard spaceship. The object is to fly around shooting at a hawk that fires multicolored bubbles filled with deadly gas. Hyperspace is available for a quick escape from a tight spot. A special drift mode nicely emulates a gravity-free environment, the graphics evoke outer space, and the sound effects fit the onscreen action. However, little variety in terms of enemies and a lame two-player mode tone down the fun factor.
