Product Information
Soul Fighter was designed by Red Orb Entertainment and developed by Toka for the Sega Dreamcast. Being a third-person action game its roots are more planted in the fighting genre of action games than the adventure style. Similar in features to Golden Axe and Double Dragon, though lacking the two-player mode and fixed camera angle that those two games possess. The game mechanics are similar to other adventure fighting games. Picking up food for energy, weapons, and power-ups is a staple in this genre.

Soul Fighter is set in the kingdom of Gomar. King Valmek and Queen Antea have organized a royal hunt in celebration of Sedan's birthday. During the hunt Sedan falls off a cliff to his death. Queen Antea and her son Felies attempt to bring Sedan back to life by calling on the powers of darkness. King Valmek's chief swordsman learns of their plan and while trying to stop them is slain by Felies. For their actions the king banishes his wife and son from the kingdom of Gomar.

Royal spy Sayomi learns that Queen Antea and Felies have obtained powerful abilities of evil. Queen Antea can dissolve into a mist and turn men into beasts while Felies has transformed into a dragon. The two soon assault the kingdom and only three are able to escape: the kingdom's head wizard Orion, royal spy Sayomi, and Atlus, son of the chief swordsman that Felies slayed. Players choose to play as one of those three characters on their quest to stop Queen Antea and Felies.

At the start of the game you can select either Arcade mode or Adventure mode, though both are similar with the exception of being able to change your character at the end of each stage in the Arcade mode. Once the quest begins more than 40 different enemies will stand in your way. There are also five bosses, one at the end of each of the five worlds that are divided into a total of 12 sublevels.Product Identifiers
