This Sony 16.2 MP camera features innovative translucent mirror technology, which directs light to both the image sensor and the Phase Detection autofocus sensor simultaneously, allowing for enhanced image quality and shooting effectiveness. Moreover, the translucent mirror enables the Sony alpha A55 to shoot 16.2 MP resolution photos at up to 10 fps while maintaining continuous autofocus and auto-exposure. As for the video recording features, this digital SLR camera retains the same fast and precise phase detection as for still images. The APS-C size sensor of this Sony 16.2 MP camera delivers a good combination of resolution and sensitivity. Low-light shooting without a flash is also possible, since the Sony alpha A55 features multi-frame NR technology. This digital SLR camera can capture six photos in a fraction of a second, and combines the data from all six to create a single photo with a reduction in noise equivalent to two additional steps of ISO sensitivity.
