Sega's acclaimed ninja-fighting franchise makes its 32-bit debut with digitized characters and full-motion video cut-scenes. The lead protagonist is Sho, who embarks on an honorable quest to stop his evil brother Kazuma and his insatiable thirst for power. Players will guide Sho across nine side-scrolling stages with locales ranging from a village and mountain pass to a jungle and laboratory. Each area is filled with patrolling ninjas, wildlife, and more exotic creatures that must be defeated using various slash moves from Sho's sharply honed katana or with his arsenal of throwing stars. The Ninjitsu magic from previous Shinobi games has been replaced with a new power-up system that grants Sho additional attack abilities.
