The scrappy sitcom about an eager intern, J.D. (Zach Braff), offered a unique blend of broad humor and surprising heart that quickly made it a critical darling and a cult favorite. Eight seasons later, the quirky cast has grown up: J.D. is now an M.D., but he’s still flanked by the lovely but neurotic Elliot (Sarah Chalke), his best friend, Turk (Donald Faison), no-nonsense nurse Carla (Judy Reyes), and hard-ass Dr. Cox (John C. McGinley). Luckily, with age doesn’t necessarily come wisdom, and the 2008-09 season offers more of the series’ trademark verbal sparring as J.D. and the others get interns of their own to manage and mislead.
