Five Power Rangers, five time periods, and five master villains provide the symmetry in Saban's Power Rangers Time Force, an action title released concurrently on four platforms. Working from the Rangers' central HUB, an old clock tower, players face unique challenges, items, and crash obstacles in each level as they guide the color-coordinated crime busters on missions to save the world, recover treasures, and bring down evil foes.<br><br>The Blue Ranger (weapon: Vector Cycle) heads to feudal Japan to fight mutant samurai and capture marauding Cyclobots, while the Green Ranger (weapon: Time Jet) draws an assignment in the future to save the citizens of an embattled city from disasters (floods, fires) caused by Nedira and her minions. Gluto's mayhem, earthquakes in ancient Rome, is the focus of the Pink Ranger as she matches destroyed tiles to uncover buried artifacts, while the Yellow Ranger faces mazes in ancient Egyptian pyramids to rescue workers and stop Frax's pillaging. The Wild West is the setting for the confrontation between the Red Ranger (weapon: Vortex Blaster) and Ransik's Cyclobots, with the action culminating in a laser showdown.<br><br>Each level contains bonus items, power-ups, specific victory conditions, and extra point generators to build up final scores. Games are saved after each main villain is defeated on a level, but stopping in the middle of a challenge requires a re-start from the beginning. This multi-action (maze, tile matching, action, shooter) title is based on characters from the Power Rangers television cartoon.
