This combination of alloys allows the tripod to hold up to 15 pounds on the head, which is a 40 percent greater strength to weight ratio than other tripods of similar design, with either pan head technology or ball head technology. The carbon fiber design makes the 700DX tripod a sturdy and strong piece of photography equipment. It works well to support DSLR or 35 millimeter cameras on the pan head. It can also support medium format cameras and some portable field cameras and accessories. Cameras with telephoto and zoom lenses also work well using this Slik tripod, as the sturdy construction allows for the use of heavier lenses on the head. The Slik 700DX tripod has adjustable legs that lock quickly into place, making it easy to move the tripod around when taking a photo. The legs of the tripod attach to a two-part center column, which is two center pieces that unscrew, to create a shorter top part. The 3-way leg angle locks let you lock the Slik tripod in position, so you don’t experience accidental spin or tilt when taking a photo or video.
