To the uninitiated, S.L.A.I.: Phantom Crash comes off as a chaotic gladiator competition for giant robots. As fans of Phantagram's 2002 Xbox version of Phantom Crash may realize, the game is set in a near-future time when disaster has left the world's major cities in ruins, and 'mech combat has become the spectator sport of choice for most survivors. Along with a wide selection of customizable armor and weapons, all robots have the ability to temporarily become invisible, to the naked eye as well as to high-tech sensors, adding an aspect of tactical, cat-and-mouse gameplay to the violent battles between the hulking metallic beasts.
