Only seven episodes of the 1950s show QUEEN FOR A DAY survive, but fortunately they have been preserved, remastered, and are presented here for public consumption. The show was hosted by Jack Bailey, who invited members of the public onto the show to explain a moment of personal tragedy to the audience. The gathered throng would then decide, through applause which was gauged on the "Applause-O-Meter," which story had affected them the most, and the winner would be deemed worthy of the title: QUEEN FOR A DAY. A classic piece of vintage television, Jack Bailey's show is moving and entertaining in equal measure.
