In The Powerpuff Girls: Gamesville, the superheroes must rescue a captive Townsville from the clutches of the dastardly villain Him. In a fit of boredom, he trapped the town in a computer game, and the only way the Girls can free it is to beat Him at eight of his own arcade-style games. In Story mode, players must finish the games in a specific order, using an easy or hard difficulty setting, and defeat all levels before achieving victory and vanquishing Him. Collecting coins in Story mode (each level contains 30) unlocks the games for unlimited play in Arcade mode, where some feature slightly different gameplay, such as the chance to extend play by picking up a Time Ring.<br><br>Game goals include hurling Townsville kids at mutant Broccoloids, kicking or punching stone blocks into place before the railway bridge collapses, rescuing hypnotized citizens and herding them onto a bus, and going into the storm drains to save City Hall from invading creatures. The Girls become barbers in Fluff Busters, in an effort to eliminate out-of-control hairballs, then must save Bubbles from one of Him's traps, take photo evidence to convince Professor Utonium of the evil plot, and, in the finale, chase Him through his Game Zone and beat the dragon.<br><br>Blossom, Buttercup, and Bubbles each have a special power (Ice Breath, Laser Eyes, and Sonic Scream respectively) and can augment their skills with Powerpuff power-ups like mega-blast, short-term invincibility, health, slow downs, and increased attack effects. Each adventure can be captured using the Comic Book Creator, which contains four file image libraries: characters, props, backgrounds, and speech bubbles. Images can be flipped, rotated, positioned and scaled via the point-and-click interface, and printed out for posterity.
