The Pioneer AVIC-Z1 is an all-in-one navigation system that fits perfectly in any vehicle’s double-din sized head units. It features a motorized front panel that gives you easy access to the hidden disc slots. The AVIC- Z1 lets you optimize your view where you can choose from the six viewing angles available. The buttons for important features are strategically placed where you can easily reach them to operate the system. The 7-inch touchscreen offers a wide viewing angle and has an extremely fast response rate. The screen displays the map in high resolution, and shows easily recognizable icons and symbols. With just a touch of the finger, you can navigate the menu, view the map, or change views and plot your routes using the big and bright menu icons. The status indicator is easy to read and displays important information, such as your current location, turn directions, and estimated time of arrival to your destination. The entertainment system of the Pioneer AVIC-Z1 is packed with features that will keep you and your passengers entertained throughout your trip. The unit comes with a built-in CD/DVD player that allows you to play a video, listen to music or audio files from your CD, or listen to FM/AM radio stations. For vehicles with the capability, the Pioneer AVIC-Z1 lets you play your favorite audio files or videos through the rear seat entertainment system. The Pioneer AVIC-Z1 navigation system is the first in its class to “remember” frequently traveled roads and take them into consideration when offering you routes and helping you navigate. Its Smart Routing Algorithm analyzes and evaluates information, such as traffic, speed limits, and turns to help you reach your destination at the most efficient and fastest way possible. The Advanced Voice Recognition technology of the Pioneer AVIC-Z1 now has a large vocabulary that recognizes casual words and terminologies such as “go to” and “search” as alternatives for voice commands such as “destination.” Adding to the AVIC-Z1’s assistance ability are the TTS, or Text-to-Speech engine, and the Tele Atlas phoneme data. It enables the GPS system to pronounce specific street names and numbers when alerting the driver of turns and locations. Voice Command can also be used to access music stored in the system’s 10GB hard drive or any Bluetooth-enabled accessories and devices such as your mobile phone. You also have the option to record, or “rip,” music from your CD to the hard drive. The included Gracenote CDDB Music Recognition System automatically tags your music so that you can easily search your library by genre, title, album, or artist name. Gracenote CDDB is updated every six months and can be downloaded for free. Another great feature of the Pioneer AVIC-Z1 is its capability for a rear-view camera where you can see a full-screen view of your backside when you put your car in reverse or a split view of the rear and the map as you move forward. Using an iPod adapter, you can easily access your stored files on the iPod through the touch panel.
