The Panasonic AG-AC160P is an AVCCAM camcorder that produces 1920 by 1080 or 1280 by 720 AVCHD video at high sensitivity (it has a Full HD resolution imager). Recordings are cleaner and crisper due to the fact that the MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 codec provides a doubling of bandwidth efficiency and improved video performance as compared to the older MPEG-2 formats. This Panasonic camcorder has a 22x zoom lens with three independent adjustable rings for zoom, focus, and iris. With this AVCCAM camcorder, there is no need for a wide-angle conversion lens, as it offers a wide 28mm (35mm equivalent) viewing angle, covering most shooting situations. The Panasonic camcorder has a series of new features, including two SD memory card slots for relay or simultaneous recording. It is compatible with high-capacity SDXC media. It has an enhanced viewfinder and LCD display, as well as DV recording. The Panasonic AG-AC160P also has, among other features, an optical image stabilizer (O.I.S) for smooth stable shooting, slow shutter and synchro-scan shutter functions, and dynamic range stretch (DRS), which helps compensate for variations in lighting. As for outputs, apart from an USB 2.0 (mini-B type), this Panasonic camcorder has an HD-SDI output, an HDMI output (AVCHD only), and an IEEE 1394 output (DV only).
