Based on Midway's 1981 coin-op semi-classic, Omega Race for the ColecoVision outdoes its forerunner by featuring a variety of new options, including Fast Bounce, Tunnel and Astro Gates. Even more impressive, the cartridge offers up two-player head-to-head action. The ColecoVision game doesn't have arcade-style rotary control, of course, but the Roller Controller works pretty well in its stead. Another concession is raster graphics, which substitute nicely for the original game's vector graphics. There are a couple of faults worth mentioning: the thrust button isn't quite responsive enough, and the pink border around the playfield seems out of place.
