When idle, the OCZ 512 GB Hard Drive consumes 1.3 watts of power, while active use utilizes 2.5 watts. This low-level consumption makes the internal hard drive well suited for use in notebooks, allowing for longer battery life and less system strain. This OCZ 512 GB Hard Drive features sequential read rates of 560 Mbps, sequential writes of 510 Mbps, random 4k reads of 95,000 IOPS, random 4k writes of 85,000 IOPS, and overall speeds of 120,000 IOPS. The 6 Gbps SATA III interface of the OCZ Vertex 4 VTX4-25SAT3-512G internal hard drive is backwards-compatible with standard 3 Gbps SATA II configurations to ensure flexibility. The S.M.A.R.T-compliant OCZ 512 GB Hard Drive is compatible with 32-bit and 64-bit configurations of Windows XP, Vista, and 7, Linux, and Mac OS X operating systems and measures 0.9 inches long by 2.7 inches wide by 0.4 inches high.
