Notes2012 collection. Nuggets: Original Artyfacts from the First Psychedelic Era: 1965-1968 - or more simply put, just Nuggets - is arguably the most influential compilation in rock history. Original released in 1972, it pulled together killer tracks from mid-to-late 60s America. Nuggets: Antipodean Interpolations of the First Psychedelic Era is a newly recorded collection of young Australian groups pushing the boundaries of garage-rock with covers of the original songs. The album features performances from the Straight Arrows, Eagle & the Worm, the Frowning Clouds, Pond, Gooch Palms, King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, Velociraptor, the Murlocs, Baptism of Uzi and the Laurels. Lenny Kaye gives this new generation his personal stamp of approval in a specially-written introduction, as does long-time Australian-music champion and garage rock fiend David Fricke from Rolling Stone.
