Product Information
Do you long to be a movie star? Direct a television series? Run your own Hollywood movie studio? With The Movies, a 2005 PC game from Lionhead Studios and Activision, you can be a famous movie mogul with this simulation game. Other games can’t measure up to The Movies with its three main levels of gameplay that puts you in charge of the big screen. The first part of the game lets you design your own studio. You’ll start in an empty parking lot with nothing, and with time, you’ll build up your Hollywood empire as you play along. The second part puts you in charge of launching movie stars’ careers, and the final level allows you to direct your own movies and make your own videos. In the game, you’ll get to create content by choosing a genre, from romance to science fiction, hire actors, write scripts, find filming locations, and create and manage a budget. For the talent and staff, keep an eye on their mood to ensure filming goes smoothly throughout the game. When it comes to filming videos, you get to decide the camera angles, how to edit scenes, what dialogue to record and more. Unlike other games, you get to pick what side of the film industry you’ll play. You can either take part in the creative side of filmmaking, or you can run the business side of the studio. In each segment of the game, you’ll collect money to pay the crew and talent, buy props and scripts and then make the actual movie. You can even import your own sound files to include in the movies. If you don’t want to manage the studio, Sandlot Mode lets you focus on the moviemaking aspect of the game. When the movie is finished, you can publish your favorites on the Internet for the world to see. This single-player game is great for aspiring filmmakers and actors, giving you a look inside the industry in a way other games don’t. The game also has great replay ability, as no two studio, movies or experiences will be the same. This video is game is designed for Windows PCs. The game is rated T for Teen due to blood and gore, crude humor, mild language, sexual themes and violence.Product Identifiers
