Perhaps the first racing simulation of its kind, Kaido Battle takes the "power-slide" technique used to turn corners in other driving games and puts it at the forefront of the action. Based directly on the actual "Kaido" competition, Drift Racer: Kaido Battle is designed to present an accurate re-creation of the winding Japanese mountain roads on which the sport of "drift-racing" is said to have been born.<br><br>Players choose from a selection of licensed sports cars, over 150 of which can eventually be unlocked. The virtual vehicles, from manufacturers such as Nissan, Mazda, and Volkswagen, can be customized and upgraded with similarly licensed parts and equipment. The game features five modes of play and supports two-player racing. A "career" mode pits players against more than 200 different computer drivers, in races that take place both in the day and at night through the varying weather conditions of all four seasons. Drift Racer was developed by Genki, creator of the Tokyo Extreme Racer series.
