For this album, marshall has assembled an all star band of studio pros, anchored by drummer jim keltner, who has played on hundreds of rock's greatest albums including john lennon's imagine, steely dan's aja and the traveling wilburys. Marshall Crenshaw has built his career as a hit-making singer, songwriter, guitar player of power pop with hundreds and hundreds of songs on his resume. One of the most prolific and successful writers of the past 25 years, his gems are classic rock recurrents - someday, someway, the often covered you're my favourite waste of time, cynical girl, mary anne, and there she goes again with another guy. Marshall's title track to the movie 'walk hard, the dewey cox story' was nominated for a grammy award for best song from a movie in 2008.
