The Intel processor is a small, square unit, often called a central processing unit (CPU). The purpose of the 2.4 GHz processor is to interpret and execute nearly all of the commands from the user’s hardware and software. With short, rounded, metallic connectors on the underside of the Intel Xeon the Intel processor is inserted directly into the slot on the user’s computer motherboard. With one core and one thread, the processor has a clock speed of 2.4 GHz and an L2 cache memory of 512 KB. The FSB speed is 400 MHz and the instruction set is 32-bit. Lithography of the 2.4 GHz processor is 130 nm and the maximum TDP is 65 watts. With a voltage range of 1.475 volts, the processing die size of the Intel Xeon processor is 131 mm2. The Intel processor supports PPGA603 and PPGA604 sockets and 55 million processing die transistors.
