Based on the Japanese anime cartoon by the same name, Initial D: Mountain Vengeance turns winding mountain roads into racetracks as gamers choose to compete as part of a group, or against them all as the show's main character, Tak. The story of Initial D: Mountain Vengeance begins with Tak, who as a young delivery driver finds himself one day in a race or be disgraced situation. As the owner of a legendary Toyota Trueno AE86, (simply known on the streets as the Eight-Six) he beats street racings most notorious driver, where upon doing so word quickly spreads of the famous "Eight-Six of Mount Akina."<br><br>As Tak, players will race with or against teams such as the Akina Speed Stars, Night Kids, Red Suns, or Impact Blue as you navigate the treacherous and winding roads on Mount Akina, Myogi, Akagi, and Usui. With driving characteristics at the fore front while designing Initial D: Mountain Vengeance, special maneuvers and techniques can be used in order to obtain victory and upgrades for the car. As each race is completed, additional tracks and music from the Initial D anime cartoon soundtrack can be unlocked, offering fans of the cartoon the feeling of playing out an Initial D episode on their PC.
