This Hitachi Travelstar 5K100 internal hard drive is a 2.5-inch (6.4-cm) hard disk drive with an 80 GB capacity. The Hitachi Travelstar hard disk drive performs at 5,400 RPM for Windows applications with optimised caching and a media transfer rate of 493 MB per second. Several enhancements have been made to the mechanical and electrical design of this 80 GB internal hard drive compared with its predecessors. In fact, with fewer electrical components, the Hitachi Travelstar 5K100 internal hard drive is robust and durable. In addition, this Hitachi Travelstar hard disk drive has outstanding shock resistance, specifically 300 G of operating shock and 1,000 G of non-operating shock. This enables the 80 GB internal hard drive to withstand tougher handling with improved portability. Its 600,000 load/unload cycles ensure a reduced level of disk wear while protecting valuable data. The Fluid Dynamic Bearing Motors (FDB) in this internal hard drive allow for a smooth and quiet operation. The Hitachi Travelstar 5K100 internal hard drive is also equipped with ABLE, an enhanced Adaptive Battery Life Extender that ensures a power idle of 0.60 W, delivering a longer notebook battery life.
