NotesThese two outstanding East coast musicians are well known amoung the tight knit casino entertainment industry. Both have performed frequently in casino showrooms and lounges, and have joined forces here for an extremely pleasing collection of jazz standards and ballads. Rice was named 'Opening Act of the Year' by Atlantic City Magazine, but she flourishes as the main attraction on 'He Loves, She Loves'. With a voice reminiscent of Diana Krall, Rice breezes through classic tunes like the title track and 'Do It Again' by the Gershwins, Charlie Chaplin's 'Smile' and Johnny Mercer's 'Too Marvelous for Words'. Mesterhazy's credits are even more impressive having earned a grammy nomination for performing with Shirley Horn on her album 'Loving You'. He's also recorded with jazz vocalist Rebecca Parris and performed frequently at the Cape May Jazz Festival. He proves the perfect compliment for Rice, handling the piano, the album's bass & guitar samples and the orchestrations for all the songs. This is an outstanding album that rivals anything put out by more well-known jazz singers on larger labels.
