The AVR 8000, a 7.1-channel, THX Ultra receiver, offers a wide range of surround modes, including Surround EX, Logic 7 (5.1 and 7.1), DTS-ES 6.1 Discrete and Matrix, DTS Neo: 6, Dolby Pro Logic II, and 7-Channel Stereo. The premium chassis features a massive toroidal power transformer; separate power supplies for the outputs and drivers; high-grade, gold-plated, color-coded rear-panel connections; and a detachable IEC power cord. The AVR 8000 has many connection options, such as 8 digital inputs and 4 outputs; wideband, HDTV-ready component video switching; 8-channel direct inputs; 7.1-channel preamp outputs; and multiroom/multisource audio and video connections, including a Zone II remote.
