Soccer action awaits you in Goal!. By yourself, against a friend, or with a friend against the computer, choose from one of the 16 countries or eight American professional teams to represent. Standard rules of soccer apply, and you can even enter the World Cup competition as your favorite country. Or, if the World Cup seems a bit too much for you to start out, you can compete for the U.S. professional championship. Each team has its own roster, and its players are ranked in seven different skill categories (dribbling, kicking power, running speed, tackling ability, shooting ratio, marking, and ballkeeping ability). Such realistic touches as headings, penalties, corner kicks, and throw-ins have also been added, and a "shoot" competition (focusing on one of three players versus two defenders and a goalie) is also included.
