European Air War is a World War II combat flight simulator from Microprose that straps you in the seats of a variety of fighters and bombers of that era. You choose to fly for one of three nations (Britain, Germany, or the United States), with the aim of shooting down the enemy and staying alive to take out as many enemy craft as possible.<br><br>The game has a "Quick Start" option that throws you straight into a dogfight. There is also a lengthy campaign of individual missions in which to further your career. The game features a database of information on the aircraft used in Europe during WWII and the simulation comes with a detailed manual.<br><br>With genuine newsreel footage, intercom sounds, and an impressive opening animation sequence, European Air War is desinged to make you feel as if you are there in the war-torn skies above Europe.
