About this product

Product Information

After besting an enigmatic warrior in combat, Alperen, an ancient Hun warrior, came to possess the Dual Blades, a powerful weapon that grants immortality to the person who wields it. This gift came at a cost, however, affecting both his mind and body. Now he searches for a warrior strong enough to defeat him, because only through noble defeat can the curse be lifted, granting Alperen the peace he so desperately craves. Such is the premise behind Dual Blades, a 2D fighting game for the Game Boy Advance. Efe, Kanae, Brandon, Duke, Shin, Nagasapa, Jaman, and Rungard are the cast of eight initially selectable fighters, each possessing a unique back-story and an arsenal of devastating fighting moves. Prior to battle, players are able to select two Power Moves from a total of four provided for each character.

The weapons-based combat offers plenty of gore for mature-minded players, and can see combatants cleaved in two or arms lopped off. Moves are executed via simple directional and face button combinations and once the on screen power gauge is filled, players can execute the previously selected power moves. The various modes offered include Arcade, Time Attack, Survival, Versus, and Training. The Arcade mode presents players with a series of one-on-one battles, culminating in the final showdown against Alperen. Time Attack and Survival modes perform their perfunctory functions, offering time-based competition and battles against numerous opponents with the player's character given only limited health. The Versus mode, assuming each player has a copy of the game, allows two human players to compete against one another and the Training mode -- consisting of Normal and Combo disciplines -- allows players to refine fighting and combination maneuvers at their leisure.
