A group of young adults learns about the nature of conformity and the value of independent will in a dystopian society in "Divergence." Shailene Woodley stars as Beatris "Tris" Prior, the lead protagonist in a movie adapted from Veronica Roth's novel of the same name. The story begins in post-apocalyptic Chicago, whose citizens are split up into five factions, which are Abnegation, Amity, Candor, Dauntless, and Erudite. Those who do not fit into a faction are declared outcast, or factionless. However, some, such as Beatrice are also classified as divergent, and are seen as a threat to society. The 2014 DVD release of "Divergent" comes in a rigid Steelbook package and includes the DVD and digital download versions.
